Are you sick and tired of noisy neighbors, lack of parking in the apartment complex, or just the lack of privacy that comes with communal living?

Maybe it’s time to buy your own place!

Imagine being able to come home from a long day’s work, pull into your own garage, walk into your own house and know that no one can tell you what to do with it. Tired of white walls? Paint them whatever color you want. Sick of dirty carpet? Tear it out and put in hardwood. Payday not until the 5th this month? Don’t stress, the mortgage has a 15-day grace period so it’s not ‘due by the 3rd or you’re out.’

There are so many advantages to owning your own home. But for most people, the hardest part is overcoming their fear and figuring out how to do it. The fact is its easy to do if you know the right people.

The home buying process can be broken down into 5 easy steps:

Step #1 – Get preapproved for a mortgage.

Before setting off to look for your dream house, don’t you think you should know how much you can afford? After all, if you look at a multi-million dollar mansions on 40-acres and later find out the bank will only let you buy a 2-bedroom condo, you will get depressed and discouraged. Don’t do that to yourself!

REALTY GUY RULE: I will only show you homes that you can buy.

Step #2 – Go Shopping!

Now that your lender has told you how much you qualify for, the fun begins! Now we go shopping!

I will show you many different homes in many different areas. During this step, you will find out what you like, what you don’t like, and what you can live with.

The fact is there is no such thing as the ‘perfect’ house. Find a house that is ‘good enough’ and add your own personal touches to make it the ‘best’ house for you!

REALTY GUY RULE: I will not pressure you to buy any house. In my experience, when we walk into the right house for you, we will both know it.

Step #3 – Make an offer and go under contract.

When I find a house you like, don’t be afraid to make an offer. The worst the seller can say is ‘no.’ When you and the seller agree on the price, you go ‘under contract.’ During this time (typically 1 month), there will be a lot happening behind the scenes like property inspections (I will attend these with you), title checks, appraisals, and much more.
Once all of the dates and deadlines are met, the hard part is over, we are on to closing day!

Step #4 – Closing Day!

On this day all of the hard work has already been completed. You are ready to take possession of your new home and move in. But before you do, we have to transfer the title into your name.

Think of Closing Day like selling a car. With a car, all you have to do is collect the money sign over the 1-page title to the new owner.

Buying a home exactly the same process … except the title is 150 pages long and takes about 2 hours to fill out.

Step #5 – Moving Day!

This is the most important step! You have now achieved the American dream – owning a home. Time for your victory lap. So pack up, paint, and do whatever you want to make the house your own home.

In a nutshell, that is all there is to buying your own home. All you need to do is get approved for a mortgage, go shopping, make an offer, attend the closing and move in.

My team and I will take care of the rest.
